Add Social Interaction With Music

By: User ImageSocialMind

One thing that you will develop as a social marketeer are many many MANY profiles.  With all the new services cropping up and all the profiles that you must create to add more inlets to your network - there’s many great ways to spruce up your profiles.

By adding pictures, music, video, games, surveys, any kind of interactivity to the pages you reside your information on, you are adding a level of interactivity that creates a spirit of community and adds content to your pages.

I was collecting a list of current songs the other day that I thought were fantastic and looking for a way to just post a list of them up there.   The easiest alternative in my opinion is found over at Playlist.Com  This site has the social aspect and the musical niceties all put together.  With buttons to add your playlist specifically for MySpace, FaceBook, Gaia, and Hi5 not to mention a code that you can insert into any website for that matter - the process couldn’t be easier to add a playlist to your profiles, blogs, or websites:

Buzz Your Blog With Yahoo

By: User ImageSocialMind

A new service released by yahoo recently is something that you might want to look into.  Another social news service, this is the time to jump on board and start building yourself a quality profile.

Just out of beta recently, “Buzz” is comparable to digg, propeller or any of the major social news sites.  I’ve got my blog updated personally with all the new buzz buttons.  I’m sure I’ll make them blend in nicer in the future, but for the time being i’ve used the following settings to get this result:

For Posting Yahoo Buzz Buttons On My Homepage(found in main.index.template for Wordpress Users)

<script type=”text/javascript”>
yahooBuzzArticleId = window.location.href;
</script>

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://d.yimg.com/ds/badge2.js” badgetype=”medium-votes”></script>

That’s the script text I used, it will pull the url of your homepage to the submission.

and for the single post page (Found in single.php for Wordpress users)
<script type=”text/javascript”>
yahooBuzzArticleId = window.location.href;
</script>

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://d.yimg.com/ds/badge2.js” badgetype=”square”></script>

Both those scripts pull the url that the person clicked on the button from to the submission page on yahoo. They have a “Button Page” you can check out for more info as well.  They’ve also got a widget you can use for your blog as well found here.

Recently someone has released a wordpress plugin for Yahoo’s Buzz that is supposed to make it painless, you can find out more info about it over here and realize I have not tried it, so use it at your own risk(it’s got lots of “Buzz” so far so it’s probably pretty good.)

To check out more info and add me as a friend (I’ll Buzz ya!) check out Yahoo’s Buzz - pretty much all you need is a yahoo id and most of us already have one.

UPDATE:  I’m not sure wtf is with the friends or contacts feature on this service.  To be quite honest I don’t really see as much interactivity as Digg on this front ( or any of the other sites that use social news as a platform)  In my opinion, Yahoo needs some work done on making social interaction more fluent for “Buzz”

Hubpages has a Brand New “Widget” For Your Blog!

By: User ImageSocialMind

That’s right, Hubpages has a new widget just released. This is a great idea for those of you who are engrossed in the Hubpage world.  By allowing you to easily add your latest or greatest Hubpages to your blog, you’re going to get discovered faster by the search engines and gain positions like you want to.

I’ve been working on an experimental account for a very short time with a friend of mine. We named it “Listessa”.  I simply went to Wordtracker, loaded up some keyword terms I Knew would rank number one in Google with my methods and told her to write about them.  I wrote a couple, but she wrote the majority of them.  Now understand, this person is completely new to Hubpages and internet marketing.  She simply followed my basic instructions, and attempted to learn what she’s doing as she went along.

The amazing thing here is, with her limited knowledge, and my simple keyword research tactics and promotional efforts - we’ve dominated almost every term we went after using Hubpages.   Number ONE in Google. If you check out some of the hubs you can see that they are not exactly works of art, so don’t feel like you need to be perfect to publish!

Hubpages has some amazing power behind it in the natural search results and you CAN acheive some pretty great things using it for your market.  I’ll show some more in-depth on the “Listessa” account in the future, until then, check her out above, and check out this new widget from hubpages. It can only help your efforts as a Hubpager!

Does Your Site Measure Up?

By: User ImageSocialMind

This website makes it pretty easy to grade your website on some really good industry standards.  I was pretty proud to see my grade level for the social arrow at 83 out of 100 out of “hundreds of thousands of websites already processed” - after only 3 weeks of being alive!

Pretty sure I’m on the right track although it gave me a few things that I’ve been slacking with to concentrate on. Check it out, how does your site measure up? Grade Your Site
